# look at me reblogging briley # there's a twist # I honestly really did like their s4 relationship # I think it was good for buffy to get a taste of some semblance of normalcy (even though yes riley wasn't exactly normal; he was way more ... # normal than a vamp) # it gave her a chance to focus on her own personal growth instead of being entangled in the twisted nature of a human/vampire relationship # and xander was right; she did treat him like a rebound guy to some extent # but buffy was also right when she said that no one knew her like riley did # he was the only boyfriend she had who was close in age and experience and situation to her # and maybe he didn't understand the mystical stuff as well as her other boyfriends # but he did know what she was going through as a human being # season 5 kind of sucked as far as their relationship went; it had grown pretty stale by then # but I honestly think that buffy's relationship with him was pretty essential # and I kinda like it # so there :P # btvs # briley # buffy summers # riley finn # tag meta
